System Overview
The GIS Partial Discharge (PD) Online Monitoring System is designed to ensure reliable operation and insulation safety of Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) equipment. Leveraging IoT technology and low-power wireless communication, the system integrates intelligent UHF sensors and contact-type ultrasonic sensors to automatically monitor partial discharge (PD) and the operational status of GIS devices.

In addition, the intelligent SF6 gas density gauge continuously collects SF6 gas density parameters. If the gas density exceeds predefined limits, the system triggers alarms or interlocks to prevent potential faults. All monitoring data are aggregated and transmitted via IoT networks, enabling timely and centralized access for operation and maintenance personnel.

System Functionality

  • Partial Discharge Monitoring: Smart sensors capture real-time high-frequency PD signals and ultrasonic signals from GIS equipment.
  • SF6 Gas Monitoring: The intelligent SF6 gas density meter monitors SF6 density and triggers alerts when abnormal values are detected.
  • Network Integration: Sensor data are collected through access nodes and transmitted via 4G public network or wired Ethernet to the backend server for processing and visualization.
  • Remote Operation & Maintenance: Operators can monitor GIS insulation conditions and partial discharge levels in real time, improving fault prevention and equipment reliability.
