HUWOR is both a sensor manufacturer and a licensed testing service provider – a closed-loop capability most pure equipment vendors lack: detection finds the problem, online monitoring tracks it, periodic service re-checks it. Modern substations have more and more online monitoring devices, but heterogeneous protocols create “data islands”. HUWOR’s IoT concentrator and monitoring platform white paper explains the access – edge – platform architecture that turns isolated devices into one unified, fused system. Core products IoT concentrator HMJ1020-WJ: AC 100-240 V; LoRa + RS485 + Ethernet downlink; RS485

Overheating is the most common and hidden precursor of electrical equipment failure. HUWOR’s passive wireless temperature monitoring white paper explains how RFID / energy-harvesting temperature sensors deliver node-level real-time temperature sensing – no outage, no cabling, no maintenance – for switchgear contacts, cable terminations, busbars and transformer bodies. Technology and products Range -40 to +150

Metal-oxide arresters (MOA) protect primary equipment from overvoltage. HUWOR’s surge arrester monitoring white paper covers two complementary technical routes – passive energy-harvesting meters and core-through zero-flux sensors – with differentiated selection and power-supply schemes for substation and transmission-line scenarios. Two routes, one purpose Route 1 – meter-type passive (HMJ1011-WBQ): series-connected into the grounding loop, self-powered

Partial discharge (PD) is the earliest sign of insulation deterioration in switchgear, GIS, transformers and cables. HUWOR’s online PD monitoring white paper explains how multi-parameter sensing – acoustic emission (AE), transient earth voltage (TEV), ultra-high frequency (UHF) and high-frequency current transformer (HFCT) – converts “periodic outage testing” into “real-time condition awareness”, in both wireless (LoRa)

Long MV and HV cable circuits – city feeders, tunnel routes and industrial supply lines – benefit most from continuous PD monitoring. This guide covers sensor configuration, data interpretation and how online monitoring complements periodic testing.

GIS PD testing choices span internal and external sensors, online and offline regimes, and UHF, acoustic and chemical methods. This comparison helps asset managers select the right mix for their GIS fleet.

Poor termination and jointing work causes most premature cable failures. This guide covers quality control for cable terminations – workmanship, testing, documentation – and why acceptance testing catches defects early.

Detecting PD is the first step; locating it is what makes the finding actionable. This guide covers localisation techniques across GIS, transformers, cables and switchgear – time-of-arrival, acoustic, HFCT and OWTS methods.

Shunt capacitor banks support voltage and power factor across the grid. This guide covers monitoring of capacitor bank voltage, current and health – what to measure, what the readings mean and how monitoring protects the bank.
