Intellectual Property

Huawang holds 52 patents and 63 software copyrights, covering PD pulse recognition, HFCT noise separation and GIS PD localization algorithms, among others.

Positioning on IEC 60270

Huawang’s quantitative PD measurement chain is based on the pulse current method defined in IEC 60270, which yields traceable apparent-charge values in picocoulombs (pC). The high-frequency current transformer (HFCT) method shares its physical principle but uses a different measuring circuit and frequency band, so HFCT readings are converted or comparative values and are not claimed to be IEC 60270 compliant. This distinction is stated in tenders and technical documents so that buyers can compare quotations on a like-for-like basis.
