Partial Discharge Online Monitoring at Xinjiang 750kV Substation

Partial Discharge Online Monitoring at Xinjiang 750kV Substation

Project Site:

State Grid Xinjiang 750kV Wubei Substation

The project was launched in Xinjiang in 2021, involving the installation of partial discharge monitoring systems on all circuit breakers and GIS equipment at the 750kV substation. The implementation has achieved excellent results.

UHF Partial Discharge Online Monitoring

Partial discharge generates ultra-high frequency (UHF) electromagnetic waves. The built-in sensor captures these signals via an antenna and converts them into electrical signals. After amplification and filtering, the data is transmitted to the monitoring system for analysis to determine the presence and severity of partial discharge. These built-in UHF sensors play a crucial role in ensuring the safe operation of circuit breakers in power systems. They effectively help prevent equipment failures and enhance overall system reliability.

Sensor Model Used

The Wubei Substation employs built-in UHF sensors, which have been operating steadily since installation. They have successfully detected multiple discharge events, enabling timely response and resolution in collaboration with the client. The system has received unanimous praise and positive feedback from the customer.
